Behavior is controlled action. Thinking provides the control, & Risking fuels the action. Conscious human behavior requires both strengths operating together.
Thinking
This stabilizing strength allows one to plan, reason & figure things out. The Thinking strength gives one the ability to visualize goals & develop strategies to achieve goals. This is internal, cognitive side of an individual.
Risking
This dynamic, doing strength provides the courage to risk taking action. The Risking strengths allows one to initiate & cause things to happen. This active, moving part of the pair fuels the outward expression of emotions.

THEORETICAL
Within the Thinking Strength are the opposite strengths of Practical & Theoretical Thinking. The activity of one kind of thinking creates a need for the opposite kind to become active.
Practical Thinking
The Practical thinking strength allows one to see how things ARE & deal with the facts. When leading with practical thinking one looks for practical solutions & is adept at applying ideas. One uses specifics rather than general terms in descriptions.
Theoretical Thinking
Theoretical thinking allows one to imagine the possibilities & see how things CAN be. One leading with this strengths tends to be more philosophical & idealistic. Theoretical thinking gives one the ability to see the whole picture.

INDEPEDENT
Risking Pair of Tendencies
Within the Risking Strength are the opposite strengths of Dependent & Independent Risking. The Risking tendencies indicate how one values oneself compared to others.
Dependent Risking
The Dependent Risking strength gives one the courage to trust others. When leading with dependent risking one is others oriented & displays strength in delegation & team work. Dependent risking allows one to receive emotional support from others.
Independent Risking
Independent Risking gives one the strength to trust one’s own wisdom & stay true to one’s convictions. When one leads with independent risking one shows confidence in oneself & is aware of what one brings to others. The focus is inward.
